New Endowment Fund

The Scottish Cultural Endowment Fund

Our Goal is to raise $10,000 this year

Q1: What is the purpose of the Fund ?

A: To support the Scottish Cultural Centre Society’s charitable activities and provide grants to non-profit organizations for the purpose of: 1) educating the public about Scottish culture, heritage and language; 2) conducting learning activities about Scottish music, dance and traditional arts and crafts; and 3) advancing the public’s appreciation of the Scottish arts.

Q2: How will the donations be managed ?

A: Upon reaching $10,000 donations will be gifted to the Vancouver Foundation as a fund to be held and managed in perpetuity. Income from the fund will be dispersed to the Scottish Cultural Centre Society to support its charitable activities and provide grants to non-profit organizations.

Q3: Why create an endowment fund ?

A: There is an increasing need. Since 2018 the Scottish Cultural Centre Society has provided over $25,000 in charitable funds for new ( young & mature) beginner bagpipers, highland dancers, Scottish country dancers, Gaelic language learners, Scottish style drummers and Scottish history and heritage learners.
